Rounding up some recent outfits I’ve been wearing on repeat, with just the shoes & bags switched out for a slightly different variation! I know these lean a little formal / businessy for everyday wear, but I just feel more put-together with a tailored element like a trouser pant or blazer.
On the topic of trousers, my belted tapered pants (6 colors) are an oldie but recently restocked in new colors! Sizing is typical for Ann Taylor (runs big) so these unfortunately fit loose on me, but I love the classic cigarette shape and the fabric is good quality. I wear them tightly belted or swap in my EP leather belt to cinch the waist. In the absence of more petite-friendly options, I’ll probably end up getting these in one more color. 00 petite measures: 13.25″ across the waist, 11.5″ rise, 24.25″ inseam. Reviewers mention sizing down.
1. Trench + ankle pants + ballet flats
Same but different, just with neutral shoes & bag. This COS tee is another one of those “better than basic” staples that I have no regrets buying! It’s thicker than your usual tee with a little structure. Just FYI, each color can vary quite a bit in fabric feel. The light beige (off-white) is really nice and soft against the skin, while this striped one is a little thicker. The tee is cut slimmer at the shoulders and chest so I sized up to XS.
2. Slip skirt + mary janes
I’m so happy many of you have been loving these DV flats as much as I do! While I wouldn’t do them for a long day of traveling (always go sneakers with socks instead), they’re my comfy everyday flat back in Boston for 1-2 miles of walking.
The slip skirt is another elevated staple that can easily be styled for various occasions. During our trip I wore 3 variations of this: 1. shown above with a contrast top, 2. monochromatic look pictured here, and 3. with this vest (runs narrow at the chest) for dinner.
3. Jeans + feminine top + pop of color
I’m in love with these red heels which are pretty comfy given the fact that they’re heels, but for any walking beyond going out to lunch or dinner, I swapped in my cream mary jane flats or Adidas sneakers.
4. Blazer + skort + loafers
There was so much good black loafer inspo on the locals in Paris! I didn’t bring my Sam Edelman pair this time, but those remain one of my most comfortable flats ever.
