Ingredients:
8 oz elbow macaroni
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
½ cup frozen peas
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
¼ cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Recipe:
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir continuously for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
Stir in the drained tuna and frozen peas. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until evenly coated.
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the top of the macaroni mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
