Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
My love for Theory dates back to before I started this blog, and I still can’t resist a good minimalist, tailored piece by the brand. This crepe dress looked underwhelming (and unusually styled) online, but when I came across it in store I was drawn to how perfectly simple yet sophisticated it is. I took a piece of velvet ribbon from a gift box and tied it around the neck, and loved the resulting look for the holidays!
This dress currently appears full price at Nordstrom but on final sale for a great deal over at Theory’s own website under “roll neck dress”. I prefer to shop with Nordies’ customer service / better return policies when possible, so I bought this through Nordstrom and got an easy price match to Theory afterward using this price adjustment form – the same size and color just needs to be stocked in order to price match.
I also wanted to mention a good deal at Nordstrom that I took advantage of – if you log into your online account (free to join), you can use code NORDYCLUB20 to get 20% off several Dyson hair tools. My mom uses the Airwrap every single hair wash after getting it a few Christmases ago, and I was able to grab the hairdryer with this discount as a gift for a good friend.
This dress in both black and white is one of those pieces that would serve as a timeless 4-season foundation staple. The crepe fabric feels good quality with a full lining. The dress has arm coverage, is comfortable and forgiving (non-fitted at the midsection) and can pair easily under blazers, cardigans and coats. It looks indecently short on the model, but is a pretty good length for petites. It’s a true shift style, so the cut is straight along the sides and is a looser fit on me throughout.
