Finding the right pair of jeans is never easy. It does, however, get easier if you know a few key measurements that work for you: inseam (measured from the bottom of the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg opening); rise (measured from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top of the waistband); and leg opening (measured from the bottom of the leg opening all the way around). Now, find your favorite pairs of jeans based on the fit of the elements you love: one that is the perfect length, one that just fits well at your waist, and one that is your ideal leg opening, weather it’s wide or narrow. When I’m online shopping, I know my ideal measurements and I always check the item details to compare them against my ideal fit. Often times it helps me immediately narrow down my choices.

I’ve not been quiet about my recent favorite pairs of jeans – I’ve now purchased three different styles by the same brand to help compare!

.01
Inseam: 29 1/2″
Rise: 12″
Leg opening: 16″

Jeans (here); Sweater (40% off here)

.02
Inseam: 26 1/2″
Rise: 11″
Leg opening: 18″

Jeans (here); Sweater (40% off here)

.03
Inseam: 29″
Rise: 11″
Leg opening: 16″

Jeans (here); Sweater (40% off here)

Which one is my favorite? I love #2 but it’s a little shorter than my ideal inseam. #1 and #3 are pretty similar but I find the fit at the crotch to be much better on #3, which might be related to the lower rise. Hope this helps your search for your next pair of jeans!!

PS: I do the same for trousers too, especially for inseam length!

PPS: I bought three things on super sale up to 82% off over the weekend! These heels for $279 (which are still available in different colors), these trousers (love the shape) and this satin skirt for $181 (the color!).
