Aritzia is a petite-favorite shop that’s very much my style, but is priced a little higher than other brands I tend to feature. They VERY rarely have discounts but are running a major sale starting today with almost everything marked down (with free shipping & returns)! I wanted to round up a few petite friendly try-ons, including the Effortless pants that are surprisingly included in the sale.
Aritzia sizing
For very petite shoppers that usually have trouble finding things that fit, Aritzia size xxs / 00 fits smaller than most brands and suits a 30/32 bust and 24 waist. My measurements are 32-25-33 and I sometimes size up to a xs / 0 at Aritzia, depending on the item. I’m in between sizes on their Effortless pants, so a 0 is a little loose on me but more comfortable.
sale PICKS
Poplin midi dress. I didn’t grab a photo of this yet, but IMO it looks better on than in the stock photos! I love 100% cotton poplin for summer since it stays cool and has a crisp shape. This one has adjustable wider straps and is very feminine & flattering. I found XS to be most comfy in this.
Effortless cropped pants. See below for a deep dive on these!
Chiffon Twirl skirt. See review below. Mint floral is so pretty!
Off-the-shoulder twist top – I have a Reformation version of this but the Aritzia starts in smaller sizing for a better fit!
Tailored shorts: Pleated mini short (a smooth tailored material) or Effortless mini short (crepe material). Smaller fitting waist sizes and petite-friendly inseams. The 00 shorts measure 24″ around the waist, and I fit a 0 best in these.
1. Effortless Crepe Pants
A signature Aritzia item – these are a little pricier than other trousers I own, but the crepe fabric and tailoring is beautiful quality and truly feel more elevated.
Sizing & Lengths
The Effortless pants come in a Full length (runs longer than other brands) or Cropped style. And within those 2 styles, there are further inseam choices for Short, Regular, and Long inseams. As someone 5 feet tall, I fit “Cropped Regular” and “Full Length Shorter / Short” best depending on heel height.
Effortless Pants in Full Length:
Shorter – 27.5″ inseam
Short – 28.5″ inseam (measured from my pair)
Effortless Pants in Cropped:
Short – 22.5″ inseam
Regular – 24″ inseam
Tall – 25.5″ inseam
Cropped or Full Length?
Between the two styles, I don’t wear heels much anymore so the Effortless cropped is the most versatile for me since I can wear it with flats (as shown below) or a little heel. I also find the ankle length to be more versatile for dressing up or down.
Color Choices
A perk of the Effortless pant collection is that you can find many chic coordinating pieces (like vests, blazers) in the same exact color crepe fabrics. As an FYI, I found the pants in “Light Birch” to be a little sheer, so went with pieces in Matte Pearl instead. This is a beautiful off white color with a hint of taupe, and is noticeably more opaque.
2. Twirl skirt
This skirt came highly recommended by many of you, and the floaty chiffon fabric makes this much more airy and ethereal than your average pleated skirt. I’m trying on xxs below and the wide elastic waist band was a snug fit on me, so I preferred XS for comfort. When lying flat, the XS waist measures 12.25″ across.
I love the look of the delicate “cool iced mint floral print” – so pretty for the office and summer outfits!
I also had a chance to try on their satin slip skirt in this gorgeous nomad taupe material. It’s a thicker satin that’s luxe in feel with a nice midi length on petites. I found xxs to be a little too small on me again, and preferred XS for a figure-grazing fit.
3. Tailored vests
Vests have pretty much replaced tee shirts and tank tops for me this year … I just love the tailored feel they add to a simple outfit, whether it’s with jeans or a slip skirt or trousers! Earlier this spring I splurged on the Rocco vest because I’ve yet to find a more petite-friendly cropped vest in a dressier fabric. I initially got 00 and then exchanged for a size up because the chest runs very small and was pulling / gapping on me. I don’t think the chest on a 0 would comfortably fit someone beyond a 32B cup.
The Regal vest is another gorgeous higher neck, split bottom style that I’ve been on a mad hunt for all summer. The chest also runs slim on this one and the arm holes are lower/larger than usual, so this might fit best on someone taller than me.
4. Little Cropped Jacket
This is another popular core style that comes in dozens of colors and coordinates with the crepe Effortless pants and shorts. It has a slightly boxier cut, that’s still feminine and luxe-feeling due to the crepe fabric and shrunken fit. While the torso fit and length is petite-friendly, I found the xxs sleeves to be a little long on me.
