Everywhere I look, the ‘mob wife’ aesthetic is taking off. We’ve seen the likes of Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa step out in oversized faux fur coats, and TikTok has declared the ‘clean girl’ and her slicked-back bun out while ushering the ‘mob wife’ in—along with her leopard print, ostentatious bling and heavy-handed yet glamorous eye makeup. While we’re seeing a new aesthetic arise almost every week as the cyclical nature of trends continues to accelerate, the internet has given the latest aesthetic nod to the women we’ve seen depicted and romanticised in TV and film, from The Sopranos to The Godfather.
Of course, as the internet heralds in another yet trend, we might not all be jumping on the trend sartorially (personally, my black and beige-filled wardrobe is not ready). But, with all of talk of mob wives, I’m reminded of one of my all-time favourite haircuts from film: Michelle Pfieffer’s flicked bob as Elvira Hancock in Scarface. And it’s a timeless bob haircut that I’m tipping we’re going to be seeing more a lot more of in 2024.
Featuring a long, blunt bob cut with a healthy, thick swing, the bob is styled with rounded flicky layers, and an eyelash skimming fringe. IMO, this haircut is totally timeless. And we’re still seeing elements of this haircut today as the bob haircut only continues to soar in popularity. If you’re ready to channel your inner Elvira, scroll ahead for the ‘mob bob’ hairstyle ideas I’ve saved.

A hot brush is your best friend for creating those flicky, face-framing shapes.
To emulate Elvira Hancock’s sleek style, hair straighteners are your go-to for straight and sleek styles. Turn the straighteners inwards at the ends of your hair to create a bouncy effect.
Shine is key to making this hair trend look expensive, and Color Wow’s shine spray is unrivalled for creating glass-like hair.
