Erica wears the Valencia boots from her John Lewis + Erica Davies collection.

When it comes to getting dressed, I often plan my outfits from the feet up. I’m always striving for a polished look, and of course, I want to feel comfortable.

With over 15 years experience as a fashion editor, I like to think I’ve tried on a fair few pairs of boots in my time, but I often find the fit isn’t quite right. And I know it’s not just me. In my years of styling people, including some celebrities as well as myself, I’ve discovered that the struggle is very real when it comes to finding the best wide-calf boots that are both practical and stylish but that also fit well. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that I’ve done the research and come up with my edit of the best wide-calf boots to invest in for this season and beyond.

Rachael wears square-toe, block-heel knee-high boots. For me, I find that knee-high boots can elevate a basic winter outfit. Whether styled for a cosy weekend with leggings and an oversized knit or for evenings out with a midi dress and leather blazer, they’re just the thing I need to make an outfit feel a little more polished, so it should comes as no surprise that, at the moment, they are one of my most-worn pieces in my wardrobe. I like to use boots shapers to help keep their shape when not being worn, do the same and you can enjoy your boots for years to come.

When it comes our favourite influencers, Erica Davies also found it tricky to find boots that fit, resulting in her launching her own line of size-inclusive boots with John Lewis. We are obsessed.  From high-street to high-end, there’s a wide-calf boot to suit every budget in my edit. Think the best black wide-calf boots, suede wide-calf boots and, of course, for those of us that love a heel, the best wide-calf heeled boots. There are even a couple of mid-calf ankle boots thrown in, too. You won’t be disappointed. Scroll on for the best 24 wide-calf boots.
