Real fur has been off the fashion agenda for some time now, but just this Thursday the British Fashion Council put it on paper, announcing an official ban at all London Fashion Week shows from 2024 onwards. Whilst real fur is long out-of-style, the friendlier, faux version is truly finding its footing.

Undeniably glamorous, a faux-fur coat toes the line of comfort and elegance, delivering a resoundingly chic silhouette that will keep you feeling put-together and cosy all winter long.

Channeling Old Hollywood glamour, the style set have been integrating the coat into their wardrobe rotation earlier this year, stying with warm leggings and knee boots, super-short minis or their favourite pair of jeans to any and all occasions. Alexa Chung recently styled a faux-shearling coat. The iteration—a soft beige Max Mara iteration—serves as proof that, if you’re wearing a great coat, you can get away with wearing just about anything underneath (even nothing in Chung’s case!).

Jumping on the bandwagon, Hailey Bieber was also spotted styling a grey angle grazing coat. With a furry bag in her clutches, the model styled her look with sleek black boots and a polished bun—helping to keep her outfit looking fresh and neat, rather than cluttered and messy.

Across the market, high street and designer brands have tested out the trend, offering fuzzy cropped styles and floor-grazing fur this season that are guaranteed to make you look rich, even if you opt fort a more affordable option! From The Frankie Shop’s chic shag coat, to H&M’s perfectly dramatic style, there is plenty on offer this winter.
