Whether you’re a summer style person, or you live for the colder months, there’s something undeniably appealing about throwing on a cosy knit and snuggling down somewhere warm in the winter. A great wool jumper never goes out of style, so it’s well worth investing in a special designer piece if your budget can stretch to it. If it can’t, however, take inspiration from my edit below, opt for one of the more affordable choices or keep an eye out for when the catwalk styles filter down to the high street. Or you could even opt to rent your favourite style if you have a special occasion to wrap up for, such as hitting the slopes or heading away on a winter getaway.

Styles to look out for this winter include a timeless oversized knit in a neutral khaki or cream, or go bold in a monogrammed cardigan for a statement style. Don’t forget your knitwear doesn’t need to be limited to the top half. A chic knitted skirt will also up your sartorial appeal and a classic ribbed beanie is a wardrobe essential: if you haven’t got one yet (or you left last season’s on a bus after a night out) there’s an Acne Studios option in my edit.
