We all need challenge to learn and evolve. This dress was definitely a challenge for me. I learned to practice a lot of patience and also learned how to sew sequin fabric.
This amazing fabric was again a deadstock fabric I found online from The Fabric Sales online shop. I designed a flared dress pattern with an elastic on the waist. Elastic helps to lift the weight of the sequins so the skirt feels very lightweight and moves easily.
The trick to sewing sequins is really the patience. I removed all the sequins on the sewing allowanced one by one and once that was done, sewing with the machine was easier.
Below this blog post, I leave a list of equipment I have at home that I recommend for beginners sewing their dream wardrobe.
