Regardless of the time of year, blazers are essential. Ideal for layering in the colder months or wearing as a lightweight cover-up when temperatures rise, blazers are—along with my jeans and extensive white T-shirt collection—one of the few things in my wardrobe I can legitimately say that I wear every season. But they feel particularly suitable for winter and its unpredictable weather, acting as easy outerwear for milder days, and an added layer that you can wear under your coat on chillier ones.
With so much wear, however, comes the risk of fatigue—of being stuck in some sort of outfit Groundhog Day–type scenario. Blazers deserve better, and more importantly, you deserve better. So I’ve rounded up 10 classic blazer outfits you can style on a whim and know they’re going to look chicer than chic.
As seen on some of my favourite sources of fashion inspiration and utilising pieces I expect you’ll already have in your wardrobe, these classic blazer outfits might be simple, but they’ll never let you down. Scroll on to see them and, should you feel so inclined, shop the key items you’ll need to re-create them.
Style Notes: Outfit combinations don’t come much sleeker than this. Fortunately, it’s super easy to re-create, too. Replace the loafers with tall boots when it’s chilly out, or try switching in heels for Friday night drinks.
You can always turn to Reformation for stylish, contemporary staples.
Perfect for those who like a close fit.
A chunky sole loafer will always look stylish.
Style Notes: Fashion people are continuing to serve up elevated ways to wear leggings this season. My favourite interpretation involves a blazer and heeled sandals, courtesy of Tanice Elizabeth, which is such a cool evening look. Just add a jumper for day wear.
Great blazers don’t have to cost a fortune.

A minimalist’s dream heel.
Style Notes: This has become my go-to outfit combination this season, and butter yellow is a colour that keeps popping up—this is a brilliant example of how to style it.
Such a gorgeous colour and cut.
You can use this blazer to create so many looks.
These loafers are unbelievably elegant.
I love how Dawn uses this more casual COS bag to soften her look.
Style Notes: Suits aren’t just for the office any more. While this is professional enough for the office, it could easily work for weekends, too.
The asymmetric design gives this a distinctive edge.
Of course, you can also style the pieces separately.
Such an elegant flat.
Style Notes: Blazers might have once been considered office attire, but no more! With the addition of trainers, they look understated and cool—particularly when styled with tailored trousers.
Everyone needs a good black blazer, and this one is definitely worth the investment.
Easy to smarten up or wear casually with sneakers.
Speaking of sneakers, this Veja pair will go with everything.
Style Notes: An elegant winter upgrade for your favourite slip skirt—add a turtleneck jumper and blazer. For evening, follow Sylvie’s cue and add heels, but for day go for a knee-high boot.
The thick grey wool makes this the ultimate winter blazer.
The cosiest turtleneck I’ve seen.
Day to evening, winter to summer, this skirt can be the basis of so many outfits.
Style Notes: Simple, yet so effective—a blazer is the perfect way to mix of your go-to jeans outfit.
This versatile blazer is just oversized enough.
An equally valuable wardrobe staple
These jeans are just so good—it’s why so many influencers swear by them.
Style Notes: Switch up your blazer game by investing in a cream or light-hued jacket, then wear it nonchalantly over this year’s full-volume skirt and finish with snazzy loafers. Sticking to one colour palette will always ensure your ’fit works.
I also like adding a white blazer to a mostly-black outfit.
Simply stunning. COS got the memo!
The gold accent makes all the difference.
Style Notes: Just when you thought nothing could be better than the jeans-and-blazer pairing, along comes this ensemble featuring forever trendy leather trousers. I love how Jeannine has broken her all-black outfit up with the addition of a printed tee.
Minimalists, I’ve found your dream blazer.
It’s impossible to be in a bad mood with this T-shirt on. It’s no wonder Ganni’s t-shirts always sell out.
Leather trousers have a timeless coolness.
Style Notes: A blazer and dress combination is a classic, but Abi takes it a step further by going for a monotone outfit in the season’s top colour, red. Genius.
This could also look great with a white jumper and black jeans.
This statement dress is crafted from responsibly-sourced alpaca and wool.
The final touch.
