Veuve Clicquot is a French champagne house founded in 1772. It is known as one of the most prestigious and recognizable champagne brands in the world. The brand is famous for its bright yellow logo, iconic widow’s label, and signature style with notes of vanilla, toast, and fresh fruit.
Interesting fact: In 1805, when Barbe-Nicole Clicquot was widowed at the age of 27, she made the decision to take over her late husband’s wine house. At that time, a woman in the wine world was unthinkable, but she not only succeeded but revolutionized champagne — she invented the remuage technique, which allowed sediment to be removed from bottles without losing gas. This made champagne transparent and bubbly as we know it today. When asked how she achieved this, she replied: “I am just a woman who has time to think.” Today, she is known as the “Grande Dame of Champagne.”
