Fall has officially arrived in Boston and has me craving all the autumnal colors! I worked with Sézane on an Instagram project recently and wanted to share some fit reviews, and hits & misses for me!

Malia houndstooth skirt – I already have the matching wool blazer (see here) so knew I’d love the pattern and colors on this skirt! The Multicolored Houndstooth has rich burgundy & browns that are very easy to pair. If you like cooler tones, Edinburgh Tile was my second choice.

I’ve tried several similar skirts on the market and feel this is well-priced for the quality, esp compared to Theory where I’ve gotten my other wool skirts. The downside is sizing only starts in 2, and it fits loose on me as expected – really wish that they’d start making smaller sizes in bottoms! Size 2 measures 13.5″ across the waist, 14.5″ length.

Betty Cardigan: I shared this last year and mentioned that the Betty fits bigger than the J.Crew Emilie. But now that the new 2024 Emilie is oversized and relaxed, the Betty now has a more tailored fit in comparison. The Betty sleeves also fit well on me and come already cuffed as part of the style, and the 100% merino wool has a smooth finish with no itchiness at all for me. See the bottom of this post for a better look at the Betty xxs on me in other colors!

Scott Trench Coat: Also from last year, this is their classic tailored trench that works on me everywhere in sz 0 except the sleeve length, which is a little long. The material has structure and is water resistant, and the jacket is fully lined.

I got this affordable JW Pei bag a few years ago and look forward to breaking it out each Fall! it has a versatile little mid size and comfortable crossbody strap. The color is a chocolate burgundy croc – hard to tell with the glare below, but better captured in the pic at the end of this post.

Teo Cardigan – This houndstooth-look cardigan has been on my wishlist for a while. It’s so cute in a thick substantial knit with a chunky oversized fit, but with some downsides to consider. I have sensitive skin and the fluffy yarn knit definitely has some itch factor to it (feels like their popular Gaspard), so I’d only be able to wear it over a sleeved layer. Secondly, like many cardigans on the market right now the sleeves are long! You can see how much I have them cuffed up below.

A few other Sézane pieces I tried on this season, not pictured:

Bree cable knit sweater – a very petite friendly, nicely-detailed 100% cotton sweater! And the sleeves actually fit shorter arms! Compared to Sézane’s other sweaters, this is slimmer fit through the torso and sleeves. Since I gravitate toward looser oversized fits, I’d personally size up in this style.

Matilda Ballerinas – these in leopard are my dream fall shoes! I’ve been VERY into the vintage-inspired dip-front toe shape this season. The black pair of Matilda flats I tried on had quite a bit of cushioning inside and enveloped my feet comfortably. A size 5 fit me TTS. However for those who also have low ankles, I’d need to add these heel lift inserts that I use in many of my flats.

Loafers – I’m sad to report that I finally tried on both the André and Andrea loafers I’ve been eyeing, and while I loved the aesthetic they hurt my feet by the ankle area. Like many other brands I’ve tried, the leather is more stiff and would need breaking in. My search continues for non-stiff penny loafers with this same look…do they exist?
