Throughout the year we’ve seen so many styles of jeans emerge as new fashion favourites. Ultra low-rise pairs have regained popularity in ways no millennial could have possibly imagined, baggy cargo jeans became the new Gen-Z favourite that fashion people are styling for almost any occasion, and puddle pants were a resounding favourite amongst all of our most-loved celebrities. Though there are so many denim styles to choose from, I’m most excited by the new wearable trend that influencers have been wearing in droves lately and that, unlike some of the aforementioned trends, doesn’t necessarily hail from the ’90s.
Cuffed jeans are the new-season denim trend that’s already gaining steam in terms of Google searches as we head towards the end of the year—so much so, I think has serious staying power for 2024.
In dark-wash, mid-wash, and light-wash styles, cuffed jeans have been cropping up all around us. The jeans—which I’ve seen in both ankle-grazing and floor-skimming lengths—style equally well with a chunky boots in the winter, as they do a sleek retro trainer in the spring, but look endlessly chic when paired with a mary jane, ballet flat, or kitten heel for a smarter effect.
Though I’m ready to buy in, the best thing about the cuffed jeans trend is that it doesn’t have to cost a penny. Whilst many of our go-to denim brands have worked hard to construct pre-cuffed jeans that fall to the perfect length, if you’d rather save your cash, simply turn up the hems on any pair of jeans you own to your desired height and you’re ready to go. You can even add a simple stitch on either side to keep in your turn-up in place. If, however, you’d rather buy from the experts, read on to discover our edit of the best cuffed jeans available to shop now.
