Looking richer than you are; that’s always the goal, right? While it may not be something you actively seek out, ultimately, no one wants to look cheap in what they wear and, either consciously or subconsciously, you make daily decisions to stop you from doing so. Still the solution isn’t top spend, spend, spend—as someone who mulls over every purchase in great detail, from a simple T-shirt to an investment wool coat, buying clothes without the proper consideration can land you back in square one. I know, I’ve been there. I take purchasing things seriously, and I take what I recommend to you even more seriously, so you can trust me when I say these pieces from H&M’s winter 2023 collection are something special indeed.

After a very strong autumn, H&M’s winter collection had a lot to live up to. Between impending sale season and partywear kicking in to gear, I’ve been patiently waiting for much of the brand’s winter pieces to drop, knowing full well the best was still yet to come. Now, it’s here, H&M’s winter edit, and, boy, was it worth waiting for.

Packed full of pieces you’ll want to start wearing as soon as possible, there are sleek coats made with premium materials, boots that rival the designer pairs I’ve been dreaming and knits so cosy and chic, you’ll never want to take them off. Knitted dresses, high-end-looking bags that come in under £30 and more of the brand’s signature wide-leg trousers to choose from than ever, much of the collection taps into the old-money aesthetic which, yes, is still very much a thing, all wrapped up in a neutral colour palette, which cements its currency for seasons to come.

Below, I’ve rounded up 31 of the chicest, most expensive-looking pieces from H&M’s winter 2023 collection for you, some of which are already hurtling their way to me so I can look richer than I am this season.

This cashmere-blend jumper went straight into my basket.

This looks so high end.

Grey coats are just as versatile as their black counterparts.

These trousers also come in burgundy and black.

I’m picturing wearing this with black trousers and mules.

The perfect party skirt!

Mock croc textures always look so premium.

I’m a sucker for a cable knit; this chunky style comes in two colours.

Belted jackets are big this season.

Wear this knit with leather trousers for a cool spin.

A look I’d like to re-create in its entirety.

Match the colour of your scarf to coat for a chic look.

The bouclé texture on this dress really elevates the knitted midi.

Pull on and go!

This will wear just as well with moto boots as it will slingback heels.

I’ll take one in every colour.

Mesh shoes are still trending for party season.

An easy way to make every outfit look expensive.

The bow straps are everything.

A sleek addition to any blazer collection.

So chic.

The cosiest coat on the high street.

Stripes will always stand you in good stead.

Bomber jackets get the cropped treatment.

I keep seeing influencers wearing tailored, ’90s-style skirts this season.

Cosy vibes, incoming.

Coats so chic rarely exist at this price point.

A truly excellent trouser silhouette.

A little sparkle never hurts.

Just add jeans and a chunky knit.

I can see myself working from home in this dress for the foreseeable.
