As a boot obsessive, it’s safe to say footwear is my forte. Although now my shopping habits have changed to focus on quality rather than quantity, over time I’ve amassed almost 70 pairs of shoes, and the majority are high-street. One of my favourite pairs is from Mango. They’re a slouchy heeled knee-high that make strangers stop to ask me where I got them from. And recently, I’ve been wearing River Island cowboy boots on repeat. I’ve usually always been an ankle-boot girl, but I wear knee highs so much more now . Although my 18-year-old self would add them over the skinniest of jeans, I now style them with mini skirts and tights or under midi dresses instead.
Style Notes: Camille’s Mango knee-highs naturally sold out within minutes, but you can get a similar pair from Zara to style with minis or midis.
When it comes to knowing which pairs to buy, there are some tricks I’ve learned in my time as an editor to ensure high-street boots look expensive. Firstly, the colour plays a big role—it’s often best to stick to classics such as black, brown and even burgundy. And secondly, leather styles are best to go to for longevity as you can spray them to make them look better for longer. That’s not to say there aren’t good non-leather and vegan leather styles out there, though. Keep scrolling to see the 26 best boots on the high street right now.
