Authentic recipe of the dense, non-fermented, high-protein, and fiber-rich Nutraloaf used at ADX Florence (supermax federal prison) to deliver complete nutrition as a disciplinary food. It is intentionally dense and minimally palatable, designed to meet daily caloric and nutritional requirements.

Ingredients (for 1 loaf serving):
Soy flour — 60 g
Wheat flour — 45 g
Cornmeal — 30 g
Oat flour — 15 g
Dehydrated vegetable puree (peas, carrots, spinach) — 45 g
Shortening (vegetable fat) — 18 g
Water — 120 ml
Vitamin/mineral premix — 3 g
Salt — 1.5 g
Recipe:
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
Mix all dry ingredients (soy flour, wheat flour, cornmeal, oat flour, vegetable puree, vitamin/mineral premix, salt) in a large bowl.
Gradually add water and shortening while stirring until a uniform dense batter forms.
Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in preheated oven for 60–75 minutes until set and firm.
Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing.
