Haori (羽織) – a Japanese jacket (short haori) or coat (long haori), originally worn over a kimono and used for warmth or as a stylish outer layer, particularly by samurai and men of higher status. Often has a formal look, with a straight, boxy silhouette and sometimes features intricate patterns or family crests. It usually has a lining, and there are no closures; it’s meant to be worn open. It is still worn today as a stylish jacket, both with and without traditional clothing.
