Achieving glowing, healthy skin isn’t just about what’s in your skincare cupboard; it’s also about nourishing your body from within. In my book, Eat Beautiful, I talk all about the importance of packing your diet with healthy, seasonal foods with skin-supporting properties. You can find all of these outlined by the season in the back, along with recipes to enjoy them in. Meanwhile, here are five of the best fruits for skin to help you get your glow back.

Apples

Apples are nutritional powerhouses packed with vitamins A, B, and C, offering remarkable skin and health benefits. Rich in antioxidants and 86% water, they can help hydrate skin, combat dullness, and promote cell rejuvenation. The skin contains the highest concentration of nutrients, providing up to 332% more vitamins compared to a peeled apple, so be sure to enjoy the skin, too! Regular consumption of apples can improve skin radiance, just don’t be fooled into thinking that drinking apple juice will have the same benefits, as you’ll miss out on the benefits of the skin and overload on sugar.

Oranges

Oranges are packed with vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin. This is key when it comes to the best fruits for skin, as Vitamin C is essential for collagen synthesis, which helps keep your skin firm and elastic. Oranges also contain folate, which aids in generating new skin cells and repairing damaged ones, which can help contribute to a smoother complexion.

Avocado

Often mistaken for a vegetable, avocados are actually one of the best fruits for skin! They are rich in healthy fats, particularly monounsaturated fats, which help moisturise the skin and keep it supple. They are also packed with vitamins C and E, both of which are antioxidants that protect the skin from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. The fats in avocados help reduce inflammation in the skin, one of the biggest culprits of premature ageing, so they not only help keep skin glowing, but they can keep you looking younger for longer, too.

Blueberries

Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants, particularly vitamin C and anthocyanins, which help neutralise free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. This helps to promote collagen production, leading to firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

Kiwi

Kiwi is another fruit rich in vitamin C, the most crucial nutrient for maintaining skin health. The vitamin C in kiwi helps brighten skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation. Kiwi also contains vitamin E and antioxidants that fight against free radicals, which help prevent premature skin aging.
