Skincare often isn’t top of our list when it comes to party season. We’re usually more focused on champagne and sparkles at this time of year and there’s nothing wrong with that! But after you let your hair down, it’s important to invest some time into taking care of your skin too, to ensure that it looks its best (in time for your next party!). Not sure where to start with your party skincare essentials? Whether it’s the perfect cleanse to get rid of all those traces of makeup from your Christmas party, or a nourishing eye cream to work wonders on puffy eyes and dark circles, here are a few new products in my kit working wonders at this time of year…

The Double Cleanse
No matter how tired you are, and how many drinks you have, always always take off your makeup before bed! Double cleansing is essential for removing all traces of makeup and dirt from your skin. Particularly if you’re wearing waterproof mascara, start by using a cleansing oil or balm followed by a gentle foaming cleanser to ensure that your skin is thoroughly clean.
TRY: SARAH CHAPMAN | Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse
TRY: Keren Bartov Advanced Cleansing Mousse
Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin is another important step in your party season skincare routine. Use a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and reveal brighter, smoother skin. You can read my guide to exfoliation here.
TRY: My Blend Skin Renewal Peel
Hydrate
Hydration is key to achieving healthy, glowing skin, which will be top of your wish list for the perfect party look! Use a hydrating serum or facial oil to nourish your skin and lock in moisture as well as using a hydrating face mask once a week to give your skin an extra boost. For a pre-party moisture boost try a sheet mask (shop my favourites here).
TRY: ORVEDA | Women’s The Healing Sap
Protect
Protecting your skin from the sun is important all year round, but especially during party season when you may be spending more time outdoors at Christmas lunches or socials. Whatever the weather, use a daily SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
TRY: Karen Bartov Skin Protect SPF50
Eye Cream
Nothing gives away the fact that you’ve been burning the candle at both ends faster than tired eyes! The delicate skin around your eyes needs extra care and attention, especially at this time of year. Use an eye cream to hydrate and brighten the under-eye area, reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness.
TRY: LA PRAIRIE | Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Cream
Lip Balm
Don’t forget to take care of your lips during the party season, especially if you’re hoping for a holiday romance! Use a nourishing lip balm to keep your lips soft and hydrated, carrying it with you for a day-time moisture hit and layering on before bed for overnight restoration.
Catch Up On Sleep
There’s no getting around it – you’ll need to sleep at some point this season too! Getting enough sleep is essential for healthy, glowing skin. Since getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night is the only way to ensure that your skin has time to repair and regenerate, if you’re missing out on hours during party nights make time to catch up when you can. A Sunday lie-in is essential…
