A bunch of you loved this black jumpsuit I shared a few weeks ago that sold out quickly (tho still stocked in regular sizing), so I wanted to share another affordable find! For girls nights and special events like weddings, parties, and even presentations I find jumpsuits to be such a chic (and zero-thought required) alternative to dresses. This one by Sam Edelman is a a bit of a hidden gem – I almost didn’t click in due to the low customer ratings, but my interest was piqued after reading details about it running short and seeing how cropped it fit on the model!
Sam Edelman tie waist jumpsuit
In 4 colors, sizes 0 – 14
Turns out this jumpsuit is pretty petite-friendly and good quality, made of a medium weight, wrinkle resistant fabric with a fully lined torso. Unlike the reviewer I had no issue with my zipper, and love that it is on the side for easy access, instead of the hard-to-reach back center. Fit feels true to size for a 0, so as someone who typically takes 00, there is a little extra room around the chest for me but do-able after I cinched the waist in using the sash tie belt. The cut is a wide leg style that hits at my ankles (I’m 5 feet tall) and works even with low sandals. Last but not least – pockets!!
Cloth by Design sweater dress
For anyone looking for a basic, very affordable cowl neck sweater dress in black or camel. The fabric quality is nothing to write home about, but it’s a simple cut in a classic color and the sleeves are not too long on petites. Note this is a loose fit dress that hits me at the knees, so when pairing with taller OTK boots, I belted it and tucked some extra length over my belt to make the length appear shorter.
Charles by Charles David OTK boots
I got these boots years ago and still reach for them on a regular basis for heavy walking around the city! They have been my “beat around” boots yet still look great since the black fabric is so low maintenance. While I do own Stuart Weitzman boots which are notably higher quality and made with suede, these CD boots are just easy to reach for when I’m running around town or at the playground without worrying about them getting dirty. I have very narrow calves and would not say they are a snug fit on me, but they do fit better than many other styles I’ve tried and don’t fall down much.
In the boots section, I also found my beloved Vince Camuto booties and Sam Edelman Tinsley rain boots fully stocked at the Rack! It seems SE must be phasing out this style as I haven’t had luck finding them anywhere over the last couple of months. I’ve been wearing mine for several years now and love them as a winter weather alternative to heavy snow boots.
One last try-on to share is this beautiful sale find from one of my favorite dress brands! In general, Dress the Population is regular fit sizing (not petite) so their dresses usually hit me below the knees. The fit width-wise of their XXS is usually pretty good though, especially for styles that offer adjustable shoulder straps like this one.
